The five dollars does not go to Living Obituary. It does not go to a far-away fund. It goes to a charity in the local area — the foundation, comfort fund, or named charity affiliated with the hospice, hospital, or care center you are in.

How we know which local charity

The pamphlet at the desk has a facility code, and often a QR code. Put that code at checkout. If the camera does not open the QR, type the code. That code is how we send the $5 to a charity in that local area. A facility code is optional. It tells us which local charity receives the $5. It is not a medical record number.

If you do not have a code yet

You can still buy the living obituary. When you have the code from the desk, the pamphlet, or the chaplain, enter it so the $5 can go to a charity in your local area. Without a code we cannot assign it to a specific local charity.

What this is not

The $99 is the memory package. It is not a tax-deductible gift. After the card clears, Living Obituary gives $5 to a charity in that local area. You do not get a tax receipt.
